NYHA Tryout Policy and Procedures for Players and Families (included in all registration materials):
Please review the following information regarding NYHA's policies related to tryouts and payment of fees for participation on a Travel or Select Team. By completing registration and participating in tryouts you expressly acknowledge receipt of this policy document and agree to the terms set forth herein:
*All players intending to participate in the NYHA tryouts are required to pay a $75 nonrefundable tryout fee in advance of the tryout sessions. Note that the tryout fee is non-refundable and does not apply to the regular season registration fees.
*On or before the first night of tryouts, all players intending to compete for a roster spot on a Travel are required to register online with NYHA. Players will complete the full registration, including waivers and jersey orders for the upcoming season.
*Registrants will also submit a credit card authorization online that will be used to process the payments. NYH will accept credit card only for payment with the first payment processed automatically on or shortly after May 11, 2017 and the balance will be automatically debited on/about August 11, 2017.
NO CHECKS will be accepted for payment.
*Upon confirmation of online registration, payment of the non-refundable tryout fee and receipt of the online credit card authorization, the player will be eligible to receive their assigned tryout jersey.
* Any player who fails to pay the tryout fee or submit the online credit card authorization will be prevented from participating in tryouts.
Team Placement Procedures and Refund Policy:
Upon selection for a Travel or Select team and the online posting thereof, players and their families agree that NYHA shall retain a minimum of 50% of the season fees unless the player properly withdraws from consideration for placement on a team, as set forth below. This requirement is necessary to ensure that all teams have a minimum number of players to support the team competitively and financially.
A player may properly withdraw from consideration for placement on a Travel or Select team by notifying the NYHA President in writing (email to firstname.lastname@example.org) prior to midnight Wednesday May 12, 2017.
Players who are selected for a team will be notified prior to midnight Monday May 10, 2017. All team selections will be posted online by midnight Friday May 14, 2017.
*Any player who fails to withdraw will be considered eligible for selection and NYH shall retain a minimum of 50% of season-fees.
*In addition, any player who fails to withdraw and is selected and posted online will not be released to play elsewhere until a minimum of 50% of the annual season fee has been collected by NYHA.
*Any player whose 50% season-fee payment remains uncollected through May 15, 2017 will also forfeit his/her roster spot and will not be released to play elsewhere until the 50% fee has been received and any additional fees for expenditures incurred by NYHA are settled in full.
Payment and Refund Policy:
NAVY YOUTH HOCKEY ASSOCIATION, Inc. accepts Master Card, Visa, Discover and American Express for payment of season fees. Registration is not complete without Consent-to-Treat form found in the Documents section of the NYHA website.
Hand in the Consent to Treat and USAH Code of Conduct form and a copy of your player’s birth certificate on the first night of tryouts.

Families with more than one registered player in NAVY YOUTH HOCKEY ASSOCIATION, Inc. will be offered the following discount(s): The discount applies to all levels. First player (highest cost) - full price, Second and subsequent players - 10% discount off of season fees.
Goalie Discounts (Squirts and older only)
A 40% discount off of the season fees will be offered to the first 2 (two) goalies registered and paid in full per team that provide their own goalie equipment.
Discounts will be applied after all payments have been received and checks reflecting the discount will be mailed on or before December 15.
Absent a season-ending injury or forced relocation more than fifty miles from the Navy rink, all fees and payments are non-refundable. Players and their families agree that this is reasonable in view of NYHAs obligation for USA Hockey Insurance, CBHL Fees, uniform purchase, binding ice contracts and the need to ensure that rosters have sufficient players to comply with league rules and remain competitive.
In addition, no refunds shall be given to any parent, guardian or player suspended for violating the USAH or NYHA code of conduct.
